WARPED TOUR 09

Vans Warped Tour rode through town once again August 1, 2009 for its fifteenth annual gala bringing with it only the crowd a music festival of its caliber can. Fans bared the elements to bathe their eardrums with loud uncensored rock and roll. Thousands of unsupervised teens, young adults, and a few chaperones shimmied through bottle necks, shuffled through lines, and packed shoulder to shoulder to catch a glimpse of their favorite band. This much music for the price is worth every penny your ticket cost. The only problem is trying to pry yourself from one band to walk to the next.
Veterans Bad Religion and Less Than Jake showed that they can still rock the house, and get the tamest teen to empty their pockets and surf to the front of the stage on a set of a thousand hands, Senses Fail drew the crowd into a mosh pit frenzy that resembled a crowd in Spain running from the bulls. Rumors flew that someone's father was seriously injured as he attempted to enter the fray trying to relive his youth. Well, that's not entirely true, but it was a beautiful pit anyway.
Canadian hip-hopper "SHAD" swayed the crowd and gave good advice on saving money in a clever rap that made you think twice about that third nine dollar beer you were on your way to get.
New York's "TV/TV" put on a hell of a good time that had you wanting more and so did all of the other bands that showed up to this yearly rock fest. Despite the absence of Blink 182, all in all it was a day to remember. I guess 15 years of Warped still going strong, shows that all the people who work to put this thing together know exactly how to pick em'.
