5^TH ANNUAL PITCHFORK MUSIC FESTIVAL

The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, the influential New York-based punk-blues pioneers will perform April 16 at the Brooklyn Bowl. The show is the band’s first concert of the year. The venerable band will also be performing at this year’s 5^th Annual Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago, IL on July 17. The band’s festival appearance marks the first time the Blues Explosion has appeared at a major music festival since the band’s hiatus six years ago. Additional shows will be added for 2010.

 The band will take the stage in support of their soon-to-be-released reissues albums kicked off by Dirty Shirt Rock N’ Roll: The First Ten Years, a compilation featuring the band's best recordings, which streets March 30 (Majordomo Records/Shout! Factory). The band’s seminal album Now I Got Worry and the sought after Japanese import Controversial Negro, which was originally a promo-only LP and has never been released on CD will both street May 18.  Additional tracks have been added to both albums and all titles will be available digitally, many for the first time.

Super 400 has released their fifth studio album, Sweet Fist on Response Records/Rock Ridge Music. Recorded on tape at the famed Ardent Studios in Memphis, TN, with cover art by Klaus Voormann, the renowned creator of the Beatles' 'Revolver' album cover, this album is the band's most skillful work to date, holding strong to their influences from legends like Jimi Hendrix, Cream, Blind Faith and Zeppelin.
 
Super 400 takes the classic 'power trio' approach: three instruments taking up the sonic space of an airplane hangar, rocking to the heavens - but their vocal dynamics and spiritual synergy cause the sounds to swell to the bursting point.  In the band's first year, Geoff Travis of Trade 2 Records brought them over to London, and they were signed by Island Records.  Island planned to herald the return of Rock and Roll with Super 400 as a flagship force in the new millennium.  The young band had their first album in the chamber, ready to take on the world. In a twist of fate that would foreshadow an unstable music biz, Polygram Co was soon bought out, folding the hierarchy at Island, but this didn’t break the bands bond, only made them stronger.
 
When asked where the title “Sweet Fist” originated from, bassist Lori Friday says, "The sweet fist is a beautiful moment in imagination, a sincere effort, strength in kindness, truth in a message, this family's assemblage of love and warmth through sound. Recording the record in Memphis allowed us to absorb the grit and fever of the town - the album title revealed itself through the adventures we had there and is a adjective for the sounds we will share with fans."
 
One of the standout tracks on the album is “Flashlight,” which up on MySpace <http://www.myspace.com/super400>  Now.  The band will be releasing a video shortly about a teenage girl dreaming of being a rock star like her hero Lori Friday. Consistently denied by the stiffness of her parents, she sneaks out with her friends, who alert her with flashlights in the night, and journey to the Super 400 show where she connects with her she-ro while rocking out.
 
“Sweet Fist” is proof that Super 400 have lasting power within the industry. It's been five records, three vans, thirteen years, and thousands of miles since that first day in Troy, NY and the band will continue to rock until the end of time.

February 23, 2010 - Disco Curtis will be supporting Co-Headliners Eye Alaska and Rookie of the Year on tour kicking off on April 8th in Wichita, Kansas. Disco Curtis was most recently signed to MySpace/Interscope Records and debuted their music video for “Ashley” on MySpace racking in over 44,000 plays its first week. Today, the band currently performs songs off their debut EP “Play With Fire Get Burned” which is available now via itunes. Over the summer months, the band is prepping for their appearance on the second half of the annual Vans Warped Tour, with dates slated for July 20th through August 15th. Having previously toured with Boys Like Girls, Forever The Sickest Kids and more, the band cannot wait to get back on the road.

Mix Pavement, The Pixies, Sonic Youth and alternative country like Ryan Adams and the Replacements and you get something along the lines of Bear Ceuse, soul-catching music leaving you aching for more.  Cameron Matthews leads the guitar heavy trio, Bear Ceuse.  Not afraid to step out of Indie bounds by displaying a high level of machismo and guitar heroics, Cameron is backed up by Producer/Bassist Patrick Crecelius (Radical Sons) and drummer Ben Majchrzak.

 The sound is 80s inspired shoegaze, futuristic noisescapes, layered aesthetic charms, and honest, defenseless writings, making Bear Ceuse a celebratory experience.  Born in rock n’ roll, and bathed in the God-fearing waters of the Missouri river, the Bear Ceuse music speaks for itself. 

 After winning mtvU’s Best Music on Campus, competition, Cameron Matthews was flown to Austin, TX to play with  Rapture, Shiny Toy Guns and The Shins.  The rest is history. Besides fronting Bear Ceuse, Cameron is also working on projects with Duane Lundy who has worked with such greats as Jim James of My Morning Jacket, Ben Sollee and These United States.
