What do you get when you take members of Silvertide, and mix them with other original Philly rockers? The answer is Automatic Fire. The lineup consists of Walt Lafty on vocals, Evil Rob on guitar, Brian Weaver on bass, and Brian Killian on percussion to be exact. Walt made time to call me on a chilly February Wednesday to discuss their current EP, "The EP," selling out their very first show, touring with Shinedown, and what's in store for this new balls to the wall rock band.

After playing a packed show at Arlene’s Grocery in New York, Bear Ceuse is continuing its tour through the states to spread the gospel. Mix Pavement, The Pixies, Sonic Youth and alternative country like Ryan Adams and the Replacements and you get something along the lines of Bear Ceuse, soul-catching music leaving you aching for more. Cameron Matthews leads the guitar heavy trio, Bear Ceuse. Not afraid to step out of Indie bounds by displaying a high level of machismo and guitar heroics, Cameron is backed up by Producer/Bassist Patrick Crecelius (Radical Sons) and drummer Ben Majchrzak.

The sound is 80s inspired shoegaze, futuristic noisescapes, layered aesthetic charms, and honest, defenseless writings, making Bear Ceuse a celebratory experience. Born in rock n’ roll, and bathed in the God-fearing waters of the Missouri river, the Bear Ceuse music speaks for itself.

After winning mtvU’s Best Music on Campus, competition, Cameron Matthews was flown to Austin, TX to play with Rapture, Shiny Toy Guns and The Shins. The rest is history. Besides fronting Bear Ceuse, Cameron is also working on projects with Duane Lundy who has worked with such greats as Jim James of My Morning Jacket, Ben Sollee and These United States.

Sick Puppies- The Review

As I'm sitting here with the concert fresh in my mind and the ringing in my ears just
beginning to subside, I’d have to say Sick Puppies throw down one hell of a concert.
Front man Shimon Moore is about as crazy, charismatic, and energetic as you'd
want a lead singer to be. He walks out on stage, entices the crowd, and does what he
knows best. He has fantastic crowd interaction constantly reminding his fans that
their not singing loud enough. Halfway through the concert he thanks us for not
sitting on our ass's at home watching TV, but instead decided to go to a rock concert.
It kind of made you feel bad for the people that weren't there.

Bassist Emma Anzai is also as mesmerizing as Mr. Moore but all without saying a
word. I'm pretty sure the large majority of the concert goers were all smitten. Dressed
up in her goth/rock regalia while her hair is flying in the wind due to a fan on stage...
It’d be hard not to be.

Shimon and Emma (Australia) combined with drummer Mark Goodwin (Los Angeles) all put on a great show live, exhibiting chemistry rarely found on stage. They have a great mixture of medium tempo, girlfriend friendly songs such as, "All The Same," to hard rock mosh pitting songs like "You're Going Down,” of which spawned the largest mosh pit I've seen in recent history. I had no choice but to join the encircled festivities. Sick Puppies is a must see concert, especially for all you pit lovers. You will be entertained, oh yes…and you will be rocked.

It was time I caught up with Sam Loeffler, drummer of Chevelle. Eight months had gone by since the band last updated me on their new album, Sci-Fi Crimes. They hadn't yet picked out a name, and they had just finished up in the studio. Sam caught me up on their new tour plans, which includes select dates with Breaking Benjamin and Sick Puppies, as well as RED. A couple months back, the band played on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, so of course I had to ask what he thought of Conan O'Brien's ordeal...check out the interview, and make sure you check out Chevelle's tour dates.
